A question I get asked a lot is 'what does your process involve?' so I thought I'd give you a little glimpse into my studio to see how I go about making an artwork...
So I start with an underpainting to get some texture on the canvas which changes over a few days until I'm happy with the surface. Once this dries and I'm happy with it I'll start to add a drawing which is made with a very soft acrylic colour. For this canvas I chose a subtle yellow tint which might show through in some places to add a highlight. By this point I'll know whether the painting is going to be a success and I can relax and start applying colour and detail before finishing with my trademark black and white outline...
